Counterfeit goods and parallel imports

Separate authenticity, supply-chain evidence and legal distribution questions when reviewing suspect goods.

A product sold outside an authorised network is not necessarily counterfeit. Examine physical authenticity, supply-chain provenance and legal distribution authority separately. Serial and batch data may identify the production line. Invoices and sourcing documents help trace transfers.

A genuine item with foreign-language labelling may have been made for another market. Compare production and packaging records first, then review the scope of the right and the actual trade flow. State what remains uncertain before alleging infringement.
